REPORT | London Broncos 42 Dons 6 (Betfred Championship Play-Offs)

The Dons lost out to London Broncos in the Betfred Championship Play-Offs Qualifying Final as they were beaten at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Richard Horne's side got themselves on the scoresheet in the first half through a Watson Boas try, but they trailed 14-6 at the break.

However, without a further score in the second half, London found another five tries to see the Dons in the Sudden Death Play-Offs.
Horne named an unchanged side to the starting XIII that successfully saw off Barrow Raiders 72-0 in the play-off qualifying semi-final seven days earlier, as his side searched to build with consistency.
London were the first of the two teams to go close to crossing over the try line on six minutes, but the hosts could not put the football down securely in the all-important area, and the referee ruled play in the visitors' favour.
The Dons almost took the lead after 17 minutes following a strong spell of attacking, but the kick towards the right-hand corner was secured by the home side to put an end to the move.
But London made the away side pay for not completing that attack three minutes later. The football was moved out to the right wing, where Neil Tchamambe dived in to score.
The Dons went in search of an immediate response and almost found one on 24 minutes, only for the pass out wide to the right to drift out of play.
And the Broncos once again pounced on that missed opening. Gairo Voro took on the ball and ran through a gap to score to the left of the posts after 31 minutes. Dean Hawkins added the extras.
Finley Glare failed to give London another try in the very next minute once play had recommenced, as he dropped the ball, having looked to be in clear and free.
On 34 minutes, the hosts scored again. Tchamambe got the ball out wide to the right and went over to ground and score. 14-0.
Horne's men forced a goal-line drop-out from the resulting kick off, only for London to see the danger away.
The Dons provided a response inside the last minute before the half time hooter. Play was shifted from the centre to the left-hand side, where Tom Holmes handed out to Boas, who crossed the line to score for the Dons. Connor Robinson added the extras.
At the interval, the scoreboard read 14-6.
The visitors were the first team to go close in the second half, 12 minutes after the restart, only for the Broncos to get play back on the left.
London then scored four tries across the course of the next 16 minutes. Connor O'Beirne on 58 minutes, Robert Mathias after 62, Luke Smith on 64 and Voro after 68. Hawkins converted three out of four of the following kicks. 36-6.
The hosts continued to push for further troubling of the scoreboard operator with breathing room to their aid in terms of points found and went over the try line again with five minutes of the 80 left to play. Epel Kapinias found the goal area from a short distance. Hawkins added the extras again.
Holmes was sin-binned for the Dons with two minutes of the 80 to play.
Despite their one-man disadvantage in personnel, Horne's men continued to push in an attempt to make inroads on the deficit ahead of them on the day, but London held out to keep the scoreline at 42-6.
